v0.10 Devlog 9 and Itch.io Discussion

Hey uh... wild times, right?

Well, let's get the normal stuff out of the way first. No, not done. Still chugging. Huzzah :V Not much else to report... except that I ***MAYBE*** getting out an Android build on here at some point for up to v0.09, we shall see, mostly because of well... what everyone is talking about of course.

If you don't know already, in a nutshell, Steam and Itch.io have basically shadowbanned and delisted most of not all of their NSFW/Adult games on their platforms due to the actions of a group called "Collective Shout". They pestered Visa enough to get them to bend and force these platforms to deal with these types of games... like Dungeon Days. You can read a bit more on Itch.io's official statement... Along with that, I know that our friends in the UK are also getting a shitty situation right now with the internet, so I do hope that y'all over there are going to come out okay with that... sheer stupidity of a law.

Now, I don't think that Dungeon Days will get delisted. I doubt that I have anything that would be requisite enough to warrant a delisting. However, I am definitely still going to be working on Dungeon Days even if I am one of the unlucky ones thrown off the platforms. It's a story I want to see finished and I'm still going to chug at it until at least this part of Dungeon Days is complete.

If you want to do something, I highly suggest getting in touch with the payment processors and local leaders, as with all things that need legislation to prevent this types of stupid issues from happening in the future. For those that don't know, I am very against censorship, especially from big companies or those who really don't have any right to censor things, so this whole issue has been a giant OOF for me. I know that I won't be nearly as affected as a lot of other Devs out there, but it'll sting all the same and I don't want others feeling the same.

Anyways, I wish everyone out there the best and I hope that this issue will be solved much sooner than later. The less issues and more freedom that we have in this world, the better, so fight the good fight and make sure to contact whoever you can to stop this from becoming an even bigger issue out there! I'll see you next time!

what if buba makes a page for a SFW version of the game put a link in the bio for the real game and keep updating the main game and just post in the discussion on the SFW when there are new updates

There is still some room for hope. There's the petition on Change regarding this situation directly, the ACLU petition for sex workers, and the Free Banking act in Congress, though admittedly the latter will go at a glacial pace even with bipartisan support. Last but not least is the archival site loop-io.dev, they've got over 2500 working NSFW Itch links so far and growing, added DD myself alongside the rest of my extensive collection two days ago.

There is also a bill in the works in the U.S. called h.r.987 - fair access to banking act. this bill will undoing this crap with Visa and Mastercard acting like cartels instead of neutral creditors. Letting Steam and Itch basically sue them for the damages cause buy their actions this also goes for devs selling stuff on Steam and Itch will be able to sue  them and let us consumer do it to so yeah it may take a while to get passed at closest possible by Christmas of early next year, unless people start spamming the trump administration so government would fix this faster

Indeed, that's what I was referring to via the "free banking act" I mentioned, forgot the formal name for it.
